This workshop integrates the practice of mindfulness or conscious awareness with the
art of photography. More than a course in photographic techniques, this workshop is
about perceiving the world around us, from tangible objects to sensations and emotions.
Ultimately, is about using your camera to nurture your inner peace, wisdom and creativity.

You will improve your image-making skills, by virtue of being able to notice more
potential images all around you.

Our retreat includes field trips, group and individual exercises, poetry reading, journaling,
daily practices and many opportunities for private conversations. This is a time for
exploration, for reflection and for image making.

We then share and talk about our images and our insights in a supportive group
environment; learning how to distill personal wisdom from images and walking away
with images that characterize our mindful eye.

Digital cameras are highly recommended, but not required. Even disposable cameras
will suffice.

Remember that we are not making prints for competition, but to expand our awareness.

All photographic levels are welcomed.
